Due to social distancing requirements, we are not able to accept outside proposals for Meet-Ups at CBC 2021. The call for proposals for Meet-Ups at CBC 2022 will be announced later this year.
The Brewers Association welcomes proposals for Meet-Ups at Craft Brewers Conference & Brew Expo America® (CBC). Meet-Ups are part of our educational and networking opportunities at CBC.
What Is a Meet-Up?
Meet-Ups are a combination of education and networking opportunities for small groups of attendees with similar special interests or characteristics. They are intended to bring these groups of attendees together to discuss the opportunities and challenges unique to the special interest topic.
Each Meet-Up will be given a reception-style room onsite at CBC for one hour to come together and discuss their topic. They will be included as an official activity in the event program, on the website, and in the mobile application.
Meet-Up Topics
Meet-Ups can be focused on pretty much any topic that could be relevant to people in the craft brewing industry. They should be specific enough that the group of attendees will be able to connect and discuss the topic onsite within the one hour meeting time.
Meet-Up proposals will be reviewed and selected by the CBC Seminar Subcommittee. Anyone planning to purchase a full conference registration is welcome to submit a proposal, but selection preference will be given to proposals from and for brewery employees.
Examples of potential Meet-Up topics:
- Spouses of brewery owners/brewers
- Veterans in breweries
- Alcohol-free or low-alcohol focused breweries
- Planning breweries
- Women in the brewing industry
- Sustainability-focused breweries
- Rural or farm breweries
- LGBTQ in the brewing industry
- And more!
Host Requirements
Every Meet-Up needs a host. The host is the person responsible for planning the Meet-Up before the event and leading it onsite.
Hosts are expected to:
- Create an engaging title and description for the Meet-Up topic to be used on the website and mobile application
- Promote their Meet-Up on the Brewers Association forum and elsewhere to their industry peers before the event
- Make an introduction to the attendees onsite and provide an ice breaker activity or other conversation starter topic/s
You are welcome to include a co-host/s in your Meet-Up. Please make sure to have all host and co-host contact information available when you submit your proposal.
Note: All hosts and co-hosts are expected to purchase a full conference registration for CBC, and will not be provided with a complimentary registration to the event.
Who Can Attend a Meet-Up?
Anyone with a full conference registration is eligible to attend a Meet-Up.
